Deuteronomy 31 & 32
Fear not! He is there!
Deuteronomy 31 & 32:
He Goes with Us
Repeatedly God tells us:
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (31.6).
Think about that, when we go for that doctor’s visit or procedure, He goes with us! When we go for that job interview or to share our testimony or all those other situations that tempt us to be afraid, He goes with us! When our children walk away from God or our spouse walks out, He is there.
When we’re tempted to worry about how we’ll pay the bills, live with the loss, handle caring for an aging parent or another baby … He is with us! He will not leave us or forsake us!
Today’s Other Readings:
Delighting in Him
Verse 8, “I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.”
Psalm 37.4 says, “Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
The more we write His law on our hearts and get to know Him, the better able we are to really “delight” in Him. Then the more we delight in Him, the more He fills our hearts with His righteous desires, which He in turn works out in our lives.
Dishonest Gain is Quickly Gone
Verse 11, “Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.”
The same corrupt tendencies that lead a person to make money dishonestly will cause him or her to be wasteful and spend it quickly.
Peace with God
Verse 50 is about the sinful woman who washed Christ’s feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. He told her:
“Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
When we put our faith and trust in Him in response to His saving grace, we, too, can go in peace.
May that peace be abundant in your life today,

Elyse Fitzpatrick, coauthor of Women Helping Women, offers practical advice for conquering the paralyzing emotions many women encounter as they battle difficult, often overwhelming concerns about rebellious children, problems in the workplace or home, health issues, financial difficulties, and more.
In the Bible, God gives guidance and offers the true solution to our anxieties and fears. Overcoming Fear, Worry, and Anxiety accesses this information to help women—

- Transform fearful thoughts into peaceful confidence
- Discover specific strategies for overcoming anxiety
Women will find comfort and encouragement through real–life examples of how others, including Elyse, cast their cares upon God and experience His strength and love.
Daily comforts from the gospel of Christ provide busy Christian women with brief but deep reminders of how his truths powerfully connect to their daily lives.
Nothing comforts a woman’s soul more than a fully understood and embraced gospel. But many women aren’t finding solace in their relationship with Christ because they don’t see how his life, death, and resurrection connect with soccer practices and swim lessons. Besides, they just don’t have time to sit down and read a theology book, no matter how much they might hunger for God’s truths.
That’s where Elyse Fitzpatrick’s latest book comes in. Comforts from the Cross provides those well-intentioned women with bite-sized readings to remind them of their place in Christ and of his love and ministry in their busy lives. It also dusts off the facts of the gospel to show how ancient truths such as justification, sanctification, and redemption can free and enliven their souls every day. Even more, these five-minute celebrations of the gospel relieve readers of legalistic condemnation and empower them for joyful obedience by engendering fresh love for the Savior.
A perfect choice for gift-giving or personal encouragement, Fitzpatrick’s book helps active women grasp the practicality of the gospel message and experience its deep comforts.
