I’m not sure why I haven’t linked up here before. But when I hopped over to Kate’s site and saw that the prompt was leave, and even though I am three days late to the party, I decided to give it a try.
I have been thinking a lot about leaving lately because we are leaving a church, our church, one that we love. It’s the second time in six years.
It’s been a rather long prayer-infused decision but we are confident that it is God who is moving us. It’s only the third time we have left a church that was really our church in forty years as believers. But this was the hardest and maybe, if I’m honest, the most painful. And yet, hopeful as we look forward to what God is going to do next.
Glancing at my timer, I realize I didn’t write much in 5 minutes but then I don’t do many things quickly. Even my way of writing causes me to want to read back over what I’ve written multiple times. So, not editing as I go is a challenge.
But, perhaps, in another 5-Minute Friday post, I can write about what God is up to.
What is your experience with leaving a church? I love to hear about it. Just leave me a comment.
Blessings,
Donna ♥
