Does God want His children to prosper?
The answer might surprise you.
Psalm 1 says of the godly person, “whatever he does shall prosper.” And Psalm 112 begins, “Blessed is the man who fears the LORD.”
So, are prosperity preachers right after all? Does following Christ mean we can expect greater financial success, good health, answered prayers, and an easier life?
Not so fast.
There is such a thing as biblical prosperity. But it may look very different from the prosperity promised from some pulpits today.
And understanding the difference matters more than we might think.
Because what happens when you’ve been told that enough faith will bring health, wealth, success, or some other desired outcome—and God doesn’t give you what you expected?
Some begin questioning themselves. Others question God’s goodness. And some eventually walk away from Him altogether.
So, what does God actually promise His children? What does it mean when Scripture says the righteous will prosper? And could what God offers be infinitely better than the prosperity we’ve been taught to expect?
