“Are There Dinosaurs in the Bible?” August 24
Does the Bible talk about dinosaurs? Could people in biblical times have actually known about—or even seen—these enormous creatures?
In Job 40, God describes a mysterious animal called Behemoth. It ate grass like an ox, had tremendous strength, bones compared to bronze and iron, and a tail that moved “like a cedar.” Some commentators have suggested a hippopotamus or elephant. But others, including creation scientists and theologians, have argued that the description sounds remarkably like a large dinosaur.
If so, it raises some fascinating questions about dinosaurs, biblical history, and the timeline we’re commonly taught.
Today we’ll look at the Behemoth described in Job and why some believe it may have been a dinosaur. I’ll also share some helpful creation-science resources for parents, homeschoolers, or anyone who wants to explore these questions further.
